Great breakfast cooked to order, with friendly staff providing helpful tips. There's also a games room and outdoor seating area, perfect for relaxing after adventurous outdoor activities.
The "safety features" were a fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Glad I felt safe!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. They even allowed me to check in early after my overnight bus journey and provided breakfast. The cleanliness of both the rooms and the rest of the hostel was exceptional, which was definitely a big plus. I also loved the rooftop terrace, perfect for relaxing throughout the day. The hotel facilities were top-notch, with a bar and even Burger night three times a week. Additionally, the Wi-Fi here was the best I've had throughout the whole country. The shower was great and the location of this hotel was convenient, with close proximity to the minibus station for trips to Alta Gracia. I highly recommend this hotel for its friendly staff, cleanliness, and great facilities.
Couldn't stay longer.

The room at Hostel Alvear had a seating area where I could relax after a long day. It was simply furnished but comfortable, perfect for a casual and laid-back traveler like me.
I personally would have preferred a private bathroom, but others might still enjoy the shared bathroom facilities.

The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and offered great tips for exploring the area. They were like having a personal tour guide! The communal lounge was such a chill and cozy spot to unwind after a long day of adventures. It felt like hanging out in a friend's living room. The breakfast spread was absolutely delightful, with a variety of options to start the day off right. It was like being treated to a gourmet meal every morning. The shared kitchen facilities were a lifesaver. I felt like a master chef preparing meals alongside fellow travelers, sharing stories and recipes. The free WiFi throughout the property was a game-changer. I never had to worry about staying connected and could easily share my incredible travel experiences with friends and family.
The beds were a bit uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly and always available to help with any concerns. The hostel's central location made it convenient for exploring the city and for accessing transportation. The rooftop terrace was a great place to relax and enjoy the views.
There was a persistent bad smell in the room which made it difficult to rest properly. the lack of kitchen utensils, such as salt and oil, made cooking a bit challenging.

The best breakfast I had in all my travels in South America! The staff served a delicious cooked breakfast every morning, a real treat. The location of the hostel was also ideal, right in the center of the city with easy access to all the main attractions. Another advantage was the well-equipped kitchen, it was quite big and had everything I needed to prepare my own meals.
They were not always very clean and could use more attention. the rooms were a bit stuffy and could benefit from better ventilation.
Tourists from United States often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
